Billet Aluminum Valve Cover for 2004.5-2007 Ford F250 F350 F450 F550 6.0L Powerstroke | SPELAB

Description
If you drive a 6.0L Powerstroke, you know the factory valve covers are a weak link. Made of plastic, they are prone to warping and cracking after years of heat cycles, leading to messy oil leaks. Worse yet, the stock mounting system exposes your sensitive FICM (Fuel Injection Control Module) to engine vibrations that destroy solder joints and leave you stranded.
The SPELAB Billet Solution
We have engineered the ultimate valve cover upgrade for the 2004.5-2007 6.0L. Machined from solid T6061 Billet Aluminum, these covers are virtually indestructible. But we didn't stop at strength.
We integrated a Baffled CCV System to separate oil mist without external catch cans, and most importantly, we included Vibration-Damped Brackets for your FICM and GPCM. This kit doesn't just look good—it actively prolongs the life of your engine's most critical electronics.
Fitments
-
2004.5-2007 Ford F-250/F-350/F-450/F-550 6.0L Powerstroke Diesel
How to identify: Your ICP sensor is located on the passenger side valve cover.
Key Features
-
FICM & GPCM Protection
Includes custom aluminum brackets with hard rubber vibration isolators. Absorbs the violent harmonics of the diesel engine, preventing the infamous FICM failure caused by cracked solder joints. -
CNC Billet Aluminum Construction
Replaces the cheap OEM plastic covers with precision-machined aluminum that dissipates heat faster and will never crack, warp, or leak under high temperatures. -
Integrated Baffled CCV Box
Separates oil mist from the crankcase gases before they re-enter the intake. This reduces the oily sludge that coats your turbo boots (causing them to pop off) and gunks up your intercooler. -
Show-Quality Anodized Finish
Available in Black, Red, or Silver. Provides a durable, corrosion-resistant surface that transforms the look of your engine bay from "stock work truck" to "custom performance build." -
Perfect Sealing Surface
CNC-machined flatness ensures a perfect mate with the cylinder head, solving the persistent oil weep issues common with warped plastic covers. -
Complete Mounting Kit
Comes with all necessary hardware to mount the covers and re-mount your electronic modules in the factory location for a clean install.

6.0 Powerstroke: OEM vs. Spelab Valve Cover
The OEM 6.0 Powerstroke valve cover is made from plastic, which is prone to cracking, warping, and leaking over time—especially on engines exposed to heat, vibration, towing, or performance upgrades. The Spelab billet aluminum valve cover replaces the weak factory design with a CNC-machined, high-strength aluminum housing that offers improved durability, better heat dissipation, and a cleaner crankcase ventilation setup. It also provides secure mounting for the FICM and GPCM using rubber vibration isolators, helping reduce stress and potential module failure. In short, the Spelab cover is built for long-term reliability, cleaner airflow, and a stronger, more dependable engine bay—especially for tuned or working 6.0 Powerstroke trucks.

FAQs
Q: Can I use my original Ford oil fill cap?
A: No. The factory oil cap thread pitch is different. We include a custom Billet Aluminum Oil Cap in this kit that is specifically machined to fit these covers perfectly.
Q: Does this completely stop oil from entering the intake (CCV)?
A: The integrated baffled box significantly reduces oil mist carryover compared to a stock open system. However, on high-mileage engines with excessive "blow-by," some oil vapor may still pass through. It is a vast improvement over stock but does not replace a heavy-duty air/oil separator for engines with severe ring wear.
Q: Why are the rubber grommets on the brackets important?
A: The 6.0L diesel vibrates heavily. If you mount the FICM (computer) directly to metal without dampening, the vibrations will crack the internal circuit board. Our included rubber isolators mimic the factory protection to ensure your electronics last.
Q: Is the oil fill cap compatible with OEM parts?
A: No. The billet valve cover uses a different thread pattern and cannot accept the OEM oil cap or extension.
Q: How does the vibration isolator benefit the FICM and GPCM?
A: The rubber isolators absorb engine vibrations, preventing stress on sensitive electronics and reducing the risk of module failure.
Q: Will installing this improve engine performance on the 6.0L Powerstroke?
A: Indirectly, yes. Cleaner intake air and reduced oil contamination help maintain turbo efficiency and reliability.
